The Very 1st Month of 2013 is here!! Its my pleasure to announce that Jan's collabor88 Theme is a bit of a nod to our beloved press team, who have graciously agreed to create this color pallet and theme to kick off The new year. Not only is having the bloggers in the creation seat a 1st for us at collabor88 but so is their nearly all metallic concept for next round, "TRENDING 2013". This round is so aptly conceived as Metallic 'everything' is one of the biggest trends for Spring/Summer 2013. Silver foil skirts, shoes and heeled sandals are getting decorated with crushed crystals and metallic leaf plates & transparent details within mostly architectural shapes. Spring-Summer 2013 is about clothes that speak for themselves. Creations which evoke classic shapes and futurist metallic fabrics, there is no doubt 2013 & The metallic finish is out to reinvigorate our wardrobes and fast-forward style right onto trend. Quite savvy of them to throw in Emerald green, although not having been in the driver seat in terms of fashionable influence since the 80's, Pantone has named Emerald the color of the year for 2013, so dont miss Collabor88 January, for trending 2013!! The Metallic Color set for this round are Emerald, Copper, Bronze, Silver and Platinum.

This Months Theme "frostbite" is a broad open theme allowing you to delve into the wide interpretations of more than just the Christmas Holiday. Pulling from many of the strongest trends in Winter Fashion 2012, it is unavoidable to notice the predominant existence of the Fall Winter classics-Black and Gray. The colors of the Fall have always been associated with greys & do indeed have a sophistication & winter charm of their own, but amidst these two heavy hues, the cooler jewel tones in ranges of plums and blues is a seriously needed injection of neo-neons & welcome change. The color blue has been trending for a while and the runways confirm that it here to stay at least for another season, so this pallet is perfect for Winter 2012.
So be thinking of Pinches of black that look strikingly smart and chic against the jewel colors, breaking the color in the smartest way possible. Floppy hats, cigarette pants, elbow gloves and fur collared coats, ornate and luxuriously detailed, giant Elaborate brooches serving as buttons or clasps, sparkling appliqués and lurex-threaded brocades. Think silhouettes with a turn of the century feel, but with bits of the 1960s and 1970s in there also. In footwear its Brogues, Pumps, Wedges and ankle straps. For Hair be thinking anything from dramatic bouffant hairdos to sleek ponytails and androgynous hair, Fall-Winter 2012 is all about being experimental with various hairstyle and looks so have fun with some wild ideas for our frostbite round!

This Month I asked Our own Octy Pizza delux to Come up with a fun Octy-ober theme, so she called up Toast bard. Then Pizza & Toast put on their best hair dryer thinking caps and came out with the Floofiest 'Do we could do! "Pink Flamingos" A colorcentric Theme summed up in the non mainstream cinematic expoits of John waters, Plastic kitschyness and General Deviance. So for this round be thinking An outrageous, strange and almost visually traumatic marriage of vintage and Purposefully bad taste.
"To me, bad taste is what entertainment is all about. If someone vomits watching one of my films, it`s like getting a standing ovation. But one must remember that there is such a thing as good bad taste and bad bad taste." John Waters"
